Securing the right to study in Bulgaria involves a two-phase legal process for non-EU/EEA citizens: first, obtaining a Type D Visa from your home country, and second, applying for a Residence Permit once you arrive in Bulgaria.

Phase 1: The Type D Visa (Long-Stay Visa)

The Type D visa is your entry ticket. You must apply for this at the Bulgarian embassy or consulate in your home country before you travel.
